I have been told that players can no longer drop to their knees to
tackle an opponent. I can't see any rule to that effect in the FHI rule
book. Has anyone heard of this?

Peter,

Dropping to the ground can be considered under the obstruction rule if done
in a manner to block an opponent, remember support of the stick by the leg
foot is still a no go. It is one of the interpretations that vary but must
be ruled on the occasion rather than a blanket cant play like that. I also
concur that it is not in the current rules.
