Phoenix!

Again, like a car crash, can't not watch if it's on T.V.

I'll be less reluctant to change the channel this time though...

So far...

Tue Oct 24 PHO Cgy Won 6-1
Sat Dec 16 @PHO Cgy Won 6-3

so, they better continue winning, or are the odds against them beating
Phoenix 3x in a row (or one season)

Their fate could be decided tonight. If they loose, and Edmonton wins,
Calgary will have a tough time just making the playoffs.

My predictions anyway...

Phoenix has lost 6 straight games in a row going into tonites game. Talk
about stacking up the odds.

No, Edmonton is pretty much toast, as is Colorado.

The Flames will turn their season around starting with tonites game.
According to Peter Maher on Flames @ 5 on the FAN960 the Flames have had
several serious meetings including a coaches and players meeting where
everything was cleared up. He didn't say it in words but he pretty much
said that the Flames will win tonite and that the ship has been put back
on course.

Straight for the iceberg!

First period was nice, too bad they couldn't get more goals. But from
then on it was the usual running around and not clearing the puck, and
the usual soft goal (in o/t yet -- guess Kippersoft didn't want to
face another S.O. where he's stopped 2 of ten shots or something
similarly useless).

Not stacked high enough yet. Maybe they're trying to lull other teams
into believing they can't win on the road so when the playoffs come
they'll turn it on ans spank Nashville 4-0 in the first round. Yeah,
that's it for sure.

Expect a humiliating loss in the playoffs (should they make it) and
Iginla to be gone in the offseason.

New NHL format and schedule ? - I know plans to revamp the schedule were scuppered last year, but I think it is long overdue. Here's my 2 cents: Add two expansion teams to bring the league up to 32 (means 50 % of teams make playoffs). Align into 4 divisions (North, West, South,..

Well the pre-season is over... - What a disaster it turned out to be. I would have expected a couple more wins with the line-ups that played each game. We can only hope that the regular season starts off a bit better... ;)
