I have a feeling Campbell will likely not re-sign with the Sharks and
go back east

.... and so Marleau will likely stay because and also because no-one
would want to take on his salary and give up a high-draft pick as well


With regards to the coaching situation, I could see them locking in on
Torts quickly. If not, it might be a while before they make up their
mind

We probably shouldn't care whether Campbell would like the new coach
or not. He's a good player and, if he wants to test free agency, more
power to him. I bet we'd all do the same thing if we were in his
shoes.

I hope we don't trade Marleau. Merely remove the C if you think that
will shake him up more, and make his move to the wing permanent. He's
the type of player that can get you a bucket of points. Let's see what
a blue collar coach can get out of him. If he's the sissy a lot of
people think he is, he'll wave his NTC and be happy to leave if we try
to trade him next year.

It's times like this I wish SJ and the whole bay area was more hockey
focussed. Some reporter would get the insider scoop on what DW was
doing on a daily basis and we'd all be having more fun debating the
merits of the prospective coaching candidates. We should start a poll
using the names we already know.

I'm not sure they are going to get the coach with Campbell's approval
first, without any commitment from Campbell.

I'll try. Marleau will not be traded. Campbell will not be signed. So
that leaves the coach. We'll have a new coach by the end of next week
or, the by the latest, 06/23.

I agree with this, but will take it a small step forward. Tortorella
(sp?) will be named coach on Tuesday, June 17th.
If I'm right, I get... I dunno... beer? Cake and ice cream? Beer-
