That WAS a nice signing. You better hope there not done though. In
fact...you better give FG 9 or 10 days to pass judgment. 8 aint gonna be
enough. >> Stay informed about: woo hoo FG was listening!! |

Phht. He needed a shutdown d-man and he got one of the best in the league
and
certainly the best available. He's got 14 million left and only 5 rosters
spots to fill,
he's not finished. >> Stay informed about: woo hoo FG was listening!! |

Well, he's STARTED to address the problem, but clearly has a long way to go
to get this team back to where they once were. Starting with the goaltender,
some more defense, someone to run a PP from back there and how about the
main problem....replacing the coach. Lewis is available. >> Stay informed about: woo hoo FG was listening!! |

Looking over who's still left. Brent Sopel wouldn't be a bad pickup for you
guys. He would address another weakness on your team. So would Vitaly
Vishnevski, Danny Markov or Brad Ference. Good luck. It's not as much fun
when your team is struggling like this. >> Stay informed about: woo hoo FG was listening!! |

Uh, I'd worry about your own goaltending if I were you, if the DUI-minator
decides
to walk you are up Shit Creek. As for the D, its looking pretty good, a guy
like Andy
Sutton would make it pretty damn solid.
Leopold - Hannan
Liles - Skrastins
Clark - Sauer/Finger

Hold on a second, someone to run a PP? That's something they have in
abundance,
its not a need at all.
So how are the wings doing at filling in all those holes up front? I heard
they were
after Ryan Smyth but that is off now because of the Rafalski deal. I heard
they
were trying to talk Bertuzzi into a huge pay cut too and who the hell is
going to
centre the second line?

So will Babcock after this season. >> Stay informed about: woo hoo FG was listening!! |

The Avs are short one decent defenseman if Leopold can't play right.
And the Avs have no problems with a defenseman running the power play.
It's defensive defensemen that we needed.

Power play points per game last year:
Lidstrom - 0.41
Liles - 0.39
Rafalski - 0.36
He had two PP points less than Rafalski last year, and but 5 PP points
less than Lidstrom, despite playing 11 games less than Rafalski and 9
games less than Lidstrom.
If Liles is so very bad, what does that make Lidstrom and/or Rafalski?

Nice dodge.
Please back up your statement about Liles and the power play.
And when did Rafalski win the Norris?

Chris, he QB's your PP and your team couldnt make the playoffs. Is that how
your judging defencemen these days? My god, if it is then according to you,
Liles should have been runner up. And he wasnt Chris.

Come on. That's not *really* your rationale in terms of judging a
player's ability to perform on the power play, is it?
Colorado had the 4th best power play % in the NHL last season. This
was not their problem, nor was Liles.
>Is that how
>your judging defencemen these days?
Not at all. I was simply reponding to you saying that Liles running
the power play as a defenseman is somehow not good. It's very good.
Liles' play on the power play was quite good. His play at the other
end of the ice? Ah well, that wasn't so great.
>My god, if it is then according to you,

Runner up for what? The Norris or something?
Are we not talking about power plays here?
>> And when did Rafalski win the Norris?

Heh. That's actually fairly funny.
Not going to happen though. Rafalski isn't good enough defensively.

I am extremely surprized that Colorado was able to get him in the
first place and for so little. It does suggest that he's not as highly
considered around the league as you seem think. First, why wouldn't
San Jose keep him at that price? In the last playoffs, Rivet, who was
a dud at Montréal, played four more minutes per game than him. So San
Jose, a Stanley Cup contender with a whole bunch of very young
defensemen and an ordinary No 1 goaltender, re-signed Rivet and they
let Hannan go. Also, Hannan had a lousy first half according to Brian
Hayward. It's also surprizing because he signed for exactly what
Montreal originally offered to Souray; and for 4 million dollars less
over 4 years than what Montreal offered Souray yesterday before giving
it to Hamrlik. But it's obviously a great signing. >> Stay informed about: woo hoo FG was listening!! |
