Your nominees are:

1. Jaromir Jagr -- Rangers hockey (TM) sailing along smoothly, until
an apparently coked-up Jagr feels it's time for a triple shift. Jagr
spends a 15 second span in his own defensive zone in a single spot.
That's right, he doesn't move an inch. Three times the puck comes to
him, and three times he boots it away to a waiting Wild player.
Eventually one of his boots results in a great chance for the Wild
which they score on.

Outside of a lucky cross-crease pass that Straka buries, Jagr
supplements the above shift with 60 minutes of turnovers, missed nets
and a general malaise. Perhaps a young Brandon Dubinsky would be
better suited centering our powerful captain?

2. Chris Drury -- Overpaid center number two, as he's more commonly
called, can't seem to be in the right place at the right time ever for
the Rangers. Tonight Drury was often times found just behind the Wild
player carrying the puck. Many might contribute that to a lazy style
of play, while others may pat him on the back for trying a clever new
defensive position in which he doesn't have to actually make contact
with the opposition.

Drury, the consummate "team man", forgets that he's not on the Wild,
and gains primary assist on Gaborik's fifth goal of the night.

3. Rangers Penalty Kill -- this all-inclusive nominee felt that
shutting off the center of the ice wasn't that important. The second
period saw three Wild power play goals in which the goal scorers/
screeners were given ample room to work. Many might question this
tactic, as it makes it quite easy for the opposing players to score
goals. You make the call.

4. Henrik Lundqvist -- A darkhorse candidate. Four of the goals were
probably not his fault, but his inability to control rebounds struck a
cord with Gaborik, and the goals came flowing.

Many speculate that Henrik and Joel Lundqvist actually secretly switch
positions every other game, which explains the completely random play
of Henrik as of late.

Cast your vote! Currently Sidney Crosby leads all vote-getters
somehow.

It's like a buffet... except that all the dishes are a different kind of
animal poop.

So little of this season is enjoyable. I can't wait for their next win so
that Trautwig can ask his idiotic "do you think the offense is finally
coming around" question. I love listening to those answers.

I wrote-in Scott Gomez, because he's Mexican. He still plays for the
Rangers, right?

Worst defense in the league! - Well maybe not statistically. But I'm a realist. This is the not very fun part of the season. *sigh*

This is the worst thing I've ever watched - What a magical showcase for the sport.

The worst part of that broadcast - was the constant need to interview anyone and everyone who would talk. I don't care what any of these players have to say when they're in the Cup Finals. Why would I care what they have to say during the All-Star game? They had a great opportunity to....

Kolzig Tonight - WOW, I don't think I've seen a worst shoot out performance by a goalie. Did he not get beat on the same move three straight times? And on top of that didn't get a piece of any shot. Timmy

Avery in tonight - Prucha and Mara are possibly healthy scratches. Somehow Mara is worse than Jason Strudwick. Somehow Mara is worse than Marek Malik. Don't ask me. http://rangers.lohudblogs.com/2007/12/23/return-of-avery-provides-a-glimmer-of-hope-for-the-rangers/
