What is wrong with you people?

At least show some respect for someone who played there, had some bad
things happen, then wanted to make a fresh start.

Ottawa fans always boo Alexei Yashin, but that's because he sat out in
the middle of his contract for more money three times.

If a player leaves on good terms, he should be treated with respect
when he comes back. Ottawa treated Hossa alright when he came back.

And look at the way guys like Gretzky and Messier were always welcomed
when they came back to Edmonton.

there are boneheads in every bunch. most of us appreciate heatley's
contribution to the team and get his reasoning. but usenet is not the place
to get reasoned discussion for the most part.

There are always going to be some losers who scream and carry on, but booing
a player who left via a trade he requested is a long standing tradition in
the NHL.
